Your basket is empty

I work in an expressionistic way painting extremely rapidly, over and over a picture until the shape of it settles and feels right. The whole surface is painted each time in one go.

A 6-foot canvas might be painted in its entirety 40 times or more.

The process of painting in this way allows the ‘magic’ element, the unknown, to emerge and create an object that has its own presence.

A finished painting combines colour, image and narrative with spatial coherency. Image becomes inseparable from the paint and shape.

Much of my work is privately commissioned.
